Fun at the Fun Factory

These are a few snapshots of Riley, Dylan and our neighbor Tannor at the Fun Factory in Enterprise. We had some bad weather on the weekend so me and one of my friends from school (Kim Machicote) took the kids over to Fun Factory to have some fun. These snapshots were taken inside the Glow Golf room. I think this is one of their favorite activities there.

Dylan and Tori

This is Dylan and his girlfriend Tori. We went to Dairy Queen with them one night after the ball games. After talking with her parents we realized that we had a mutual friend at Ft. Bragg...Lori Crader. I met Lori in Alaska and Natalie was friends with Lori during flight school. It is such a small world in aviation. Dylan and Tori enjoy spending time together and we are going to miss them when they move in July. The one part of being military that hurts is saying good-bye to good friends. If you notice how long Dylan's hair is in these pictures I credit that all on Tori. I have tried to get him to cut his hair and he protest every time we talk about it. Well, his teacher told me that Tori sits behind him in class and she is always playing with his hair and running her fingers through it.....I said "no wonder he refuses to get it cut".

Our little slugger!

Riley is throughly enjoying t-ball this season. Many of his friends from school and church are playing so it is often more of a social time than playing ball. But...he is having fun and that is what counts.

Riley's Field Trip to the Zoo

Riley's end of the year field trip was to the Montgomery Zoo. Jeff went with them....since mom used up all her sick days recuperating from the surgery. They had a great time and the Ardvark was by far Riley's favorite animal. He has been drawing pictures of them ever since the field trip and finds them quite fascinating. The little boy in the picture with Riley is his friend Mikey. I work with Mikey's mom over at Pinedale and the boys will both be attending kindergarten there together. They have become good friends of ours and we enjoy spending time with them.

Update from the Mouser

Wow...it has been over a month since I have updated this Blog...my apologies....we have just been so busy around here that it is hard to sneak in computer time. With school ending this week we are all looking forward to a little bit of down time and just relaxing and enjoying the Alabama summer. Life has been good here this past month. My surgery was very successful and my recovery was rapid. I am so thankful that my Aunt Gail came to stay with me for a week and helped out during my down time. I have surgery scheduled in June to remove a tumor, this is going to be a pretty major surgery and will require two nights in the hospital and a 6 week recovery time. I am trying to convince Jeff to just send me away to a spa to recover, but he don't care for that idea. My aunt and my mom will be coming over to help out with the boys and the house.
All is well here in Alabama. The boys are wrapping up their school year this week and I am proud to say they all maintained straight A's throughout the entire year in both grades and conduct. I have never looked forward to summer vacation as much as I do this year. We are kicking off our summer with a trip to Aunt Gail's for Memorial Day weekend. Then we have plenty of summer camps (football and soccer for Dylan and soccer and basketball for Taylor). Plus, Taylor will be training for football at the school all summer long. Riley will enjoy swim lessons (probably his last time as he has become a pretty good swimmer already) and he has a Smart Start kindergarten program to attend for the entire month of June. So, are summer is already booked but we are looking forward to all the activites coming up.
If you all make it to Alabama this summer be sure to look us up....we have a few guest scheduled to visit already, but we always love company.
Love,
The Mouser 5

Dying our Easter Eggs.

We had so much fun dying the Easter Eggs and the boys were quite proud of their little egg family that they created. I am posting a few pics showing them starting out with their white eggs and the finished creations! Enjoy!!!!!

Happy Easter!

Wishing you all a very blessed Easter Sunday as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord!!
Here are a few photos of the boys celebrating Easter! We had a rather quiet Easter. I am still recuperating from my surgery on Friday. We did manage to sneak out to Ryan's for an Easter Brunch....which was my first outing since Friday. It felt good to get out of the house. Jeff took the boys out this afternoon and I got a little rest which was nice. My Aunt Gail is on her way in this evening to spend a week with us and help out while I am "supposed" to be off my feet!! We are all excited about having her here.

The Official Start of Summer

Dylan rounding the base (that is the mayor and his wife seated in the background cheering the kids along)
Riley and Ryan
Friday evening was the official start of summer here in Enterprise with the Opening Ceremony of the summer baseball. Baseball is a very BIG event here in Enterprise. This year Riley is playing T-ball on the Reds and Dylan is playing in the Dixie Minors on the Braves. It was a grand event with over 700 players in attendance. We had the honor of having the Mayor of Enterprise along with all the council members come out to cheer our children on. We also had in attendance the president of the Alabama Dixie Baseball Association. Each child ran the bases while the parents and guest of honor cheered them on. Our kids felt like pros and we are so proud of all 700 of them. The picture above is of Riley and Ryan Page. We met the Page family back in 98 when Jeff and Pat were in flight school together. It is so nice to meet up with friends from a few years back.
Saturday morning was the kickoff of baseball games and we were at the fields from 9:45 am until 1:45 pm. The boys both played great. Riley's game didn't have an official winner (they don't keep real score in t-ball) and Dylans team won their first game. It was a great start to an exciting baseball season. I didn't get any pictures on Saturday because it rained off and on so I left the camera in the car to protect it. But we have plenty of upcoming games and I will keep you all posted.

Our remodeled bathroom

Okay....we have been working on remodeling our bathroom the last few weekends and I must say it turned out beautiful. I wish I had taken some before pictures, but it was kind of a spur of the moment thing and we just did it. Here are some snapshots of the boys enjoying the new bathroom and a good example of what happens when you put bubble bath into a jacuzzi tub!!!!

"Mom are you on the news again??""

Just had to share this quick cute story with you all. I was on the local news a few weeks ago when we had our "Read Across America" parade. The news anchor from channel 4 came to our school and I had the priviledge of escorting him around. He then interviewed me about all the events going on at our school for "Read Across America". Of course, the kids all thought it was really neat to see mom on the tv. Well this past weekend I was cooking dinner and Riley was sitting in the kitchen watching "Cops" on tv and keeping me company. During the "Cops" show there was a car chase where the police where chasing this little red sports car all over town. Riley turns to me and says "mom....where you on the news again???". What kind of mom does he think he has....ha ha!

Finally an update from the Mousers!!!

Wow...I can't believe it has been so long since I have had time to update the blog. Life has been crazy around here. Just when we thought that we were over all these bugs that were going around the stomach flu hit our house again!!! Knock on wood....mom has been the lucky one to escape all of these silly viruses going around! The males have all been hit hard! But....once again everyone is up and running again and we are working on getting back on track. In the midst of all the bugs, I have been swamped with the Read Across America parade at our school. To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday we had a fairly large parade at our school...complete with a marching band, live d.j., and a police car. It was a HUGE success and we even scored and entire page in our newspaper with the parade activites. I was exhausted and glad to see it over and done. Also, I worked every evening that week at our school to help celebrate "Read Across America". We also had our annual "Jump rope for Heart" event yesterday and I spent the day outside with approximately 400 children helping them raise money for the American Heart Association. I am proud to say that they raised $8000. It was a fun, but extremely tiring day!
A highlight in our life in the past week was Taylor getting inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. We are really proud of him and the fact that he has maintained an A average all year so far. He has really worked hard on getting his work done and turned in on time and his effort shows. I was extremely proud because I too was inducted into the NJHS during my 8th grade year. Taylor also took a trip to Gatlinburg, TN this past weekend with our church youth group for "Winterfest". This is an awesome experience with over 48,000 student gathering together to worship one God. You can go to www.mywinterfest.com or www.extremegen.org/yceministries/winterfest/ and check out some video of the event. If you watch carefully you might see Taylor. He got interviewed while he was there and was up on the big screen in front of all those kids. Take a few minutes and check it out...it will touch your heart!
Well enough updating for now. I am being summoned to help clean the boys bedroom. I will update more later!!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Relaxing in the bubbles!

Well it sure has felt like spring the last few days here in Alabama. The high was 78 today and we could definitely tell that summer was on it's way. Hopefully this means the end to the winter bugs that have been going around. Jeff, Dylan and Riley all had the flu the week before last and it was a nasty one. It was a week long flu and seems to have a majority of the area feeling under the weather. We finally got everyone over that bug and then on Friday they called me to get Riley from school because he seemed to have caught the stomach flu that was going around his school. Then on Saturday Dylan started complaining of his throat hurting and I took him in on Sunday morning to see the doc and they found strep throat. Now everyone is on the road to recovery and hopefully this warm weather will chase all the nasty germ bugs away. Here is a quick snapshot of the boys. They have been coming in smelling like dirty little puppy dogs....which is the first sign that summer is on it's way!!!!

Spring Training!

Just wanted to share with everyone that Taylor made the 9th grade football team for next school year. These are some pictures from Spring Training which started this week. Those of you that have known us forever know that this is a miracle because we have been told since Taylor's birth that he would never play football or any kind of school sports for that matter due to his heart problems. Taylor made school basketball team this fall and now the football team and all with the okay of his cardiologist. Taylor went for a stress test this past January and the doctor was amazed at how well his heart performed under stress. He has now cleared him to play all sports which is a big victory for Taylor. He still has the same problems with his heart, but his heart is extremely healthy which is fantastic news. He will still be followed by the cardiologist and continue on with his daily heart medication, but all is good right now! Taylor is number 48 so keep your eye out for him in the pictures. I am sure you will see a lot more football pictures in the upcoming months.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Okay...I have to tell you....I am married to one of the most romantic men out there! Check out my valentine gifts. Yes...that is a 300ZX! If any of you really know Jeff you know the passion he has for these cars! Anyways...that's the new toy. No...it isn't brand new, but it is an immaculate little two seater(and very beautiful). Okay...on to Valentine's day. My man came to school and decorate the car with vinyl hearts all over the windows and the t-tops. He then strung valentine streamers all over the car (I took them off before I drove it home and took the pictures) and he left me a bright red key chain (to match the car) that says "hottie" on it in the driver's seat of the car. He tied two red hearts that say "hugs and kisses" around the rear view mirror. He also left me a very romantic card inside the passenger seat and three beautiful red pictures frames with photos of my boys, Jeff and the boys, and a photo of Jeff and I. So sweet..... Then at school I also received a "hugs and kisses" flower arrangement with tulips (my favorite flowers) in a "love" vase. He earned big time brownie points today.....I got lots of oohs and aahs from my co-workers. He did a very good job making me feel special today!!! I am so lucky to be married to such a great guy! I hope all of you have a day just as special as mine was.
